 Publishing Ethics 
 

 

Section 1: The Ethics of Editors 

Responsibility and Obligation

Editors should check the repetition rate of manuscripts by Academic Misconduct Literature Check (AMLC) system. The manuscript will be immediately rejected once plagiarism is found. Editors need to evaluate and select papers objectively and fairly and stick to scientific, academic, innovative, readable and practical standards. The editors shall provide timely feedback to the author regarding the comments of peer review experts and editing requirement. No editorial comments based on non-academic standards or beyond the scope and purpose of the journal shall be put forward. Editors should strictly follow the relevant regulations for manuscripts that need to provide ethical materials. Editors shall not distort the author's original meaning in the process of editing and shall not implement mutual citation of journals.

Impartiality

The editors shall review on the academic quality of the papers and shall not treat the papers differently due to any factors other than academic standards and norms, including but not limited to the author's race, gender, religious belief, personal relation, organization, nationality, etc.

Confidentiality

Editors must keep confidential the personal information of authors, peer review experts and paper contents. The disclosure of the personal information of the peer review experts to the author or of the author's information to the peer review experts is not allowed. Interfering with or affecting the decision of peer review experts is also not allowed.

Conflict of interest

When the editor has a conflict of interest with the author or his or her institute due to factors such as competition and cooperation, the editor should avoid preliminary review of the paper and should avoid selecting peer review experts or other editing procedures. Editors shall not release unpublished papers or research results without authorization and shall not misappropriate the content of the manuscript. Editors shall not seek benefits by making use of the advantage of position or the confidential information in editing.

 


Section 2: The Ethics of Peer Review Experts

 

Responsibility and Obligation

Peer review experts are required to make comments regarding the revision of articles on the basis of academic quality, innovativeness, practicality, writing level, rigorousness and normativeness, as well as whether there is academic misconduct or other ethical problems, etc., and then to help the authors improve the quality of the article, to provide the editors with suggestions regarding the decision of publishing. Peer review experts shall provide comments in a timely manner. If peer review experts believe that they are not competent for reviewing the paper, or if they are unable to complete the review within the agreed-upon time, they need to inform the editors immediately so that the editors can contact other peer review experts.

Objectivity

Peer review experts need to review papers objectively and impartially. The standard for judging papers is academic quality. Personal criticism to authors is not allowed.

Confidentiality

The journal adopts a double-blind review process. Any papers received by peer review experts must be regarded as confidential documents. Showing or discussing the papers with others is not allowed. Misappropriation of the contents of papers is also not allowed.

Conflict of interest

Peer review experts shall not seek personal improper private interests through their position of review experts. When there is a conflict of interest between peer review experts and an author or his or her institute due to competition, cooperation or other factors, the peer review experts should avoid reviewing the manuscript.

 


Section 3: The Ethics of Authors

 

Manuscript Requirement

The authors must make sure that all contents are original, and the papers should be scientific, academic, innovative, readable and practical. The materials should be authentic; the arguments should be clear; the data should be reliable; the sentences should be concise and clear; and the writing should be standardized. Plagiarism of other people's research results and forging or tampering with pictures or data are not allowed. The references shall be literatures officially published in recent years, which the authors have read personally. The format of references complies with the prescription of GB/T 7714-2015. 

Research Integrity

Multiple submission, redundant publishing, plagiarism, data falsification and citation manipulation is strictly prohibited. The authors should guarantee that the manuscript is authentic, no confidentiality issues, no dispute of authorship, no infringement, and no multiple submissions of one manuscript. If the authors submit the paper to another journal in the future, they should contact the editors of the journal for withdrawal. Manuscript is not allowed to be submitted to more than one journal at the same time.

Authorship

 

Those who are named as authors should be involved in the creative conception or design of the academic content of the article, the research work or the writing work. The order shall be determined before submission and shall not be changed thereafter. If truly necessary, the order could be changed if a consent letter signed by all authors is provided. Other contributors of the paper may be listed in acknowledgement. “Gift author” is strictly prohibited. The authors should specify their contribution in the Authors Contribution Form and submit it along with the manuscript.

Medical ethics and informed consent

 

When the research subject of the paper is human, it is necessary to declare that it has obtained the permission of the relevant ethics committee, and conducted the research in accordance with the ethical standards, set out in the declaration of Helsinki. The authors are required to provide the approval documents of the committee and the informed consent letter of the subjects or their relatives. Clinical trials must obtain a Universal Trial Number (UTN) from the primary registration organization of the WHO international clinical trial registration platform. The animal experiment reports must state that it has been approved by the relevant ethics committee, implemented in accordance with the 'Principles of Laboratory animal Care'(NIH No. 86-23, revised in 1985), and provide the standard documents of the committee.

The identification information in the study, including the patient's name, initials, portrait and hospital name, should not be disclosed except for it is significant for scientific purposes and the informed consent letter of the patient (parent or guardian) must be obtained. Patients should have read the manuscript before signing their informed consent letter. The release of patient’s information should be kept to a minimum

Conflict of Interest and Copyright Transfer Agreement

All authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest, i.e., when the financing/personal status/affiliation of the authors (or the authors' organization/employer) may affect the authors' decision, work or manuscript. When a product is mentioned, the author should also disclose whether there is a conflict of interest against competitive products. The authors should also fill and sign the Statement of Competing Interests and submit it along with the manuscript.

The author is responsible for his or her paper. In accordance with The Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China, the journal has the right to delete and modify the manuscript without changing the meaning. Once the paper is accepted and published, according to the Copyright Transfer Agreement signed by the author and the journal, the author's copyright fee and the remuneration shall be paid in one time. The exclusive right of copyright belongs to the editorial office. This journal has been included in many databases at home and abroad. If the author does not agree with the inclusion of the article, the author shall make a statement to us at the time of submission.

Post-Publication Responsibility

If the authors identify obvious errors or inaccuracy in published articles of the journal, they are obliged to inform the journal editor immediately to withdraw the manuscript or publish a correction statement and corrigendum. If an editor learns from a third party of a material error in a published article, the authors are obliged to cooperate with the editor in withdrawing the article or making a statement of correction.

 


Section 4: Penalty

 

Our journal has zero-tolerance for the violation of publishing ethics and morality. The editors or peer review experts who violate the publishing ethics and morality shall be dismissed. For authors who violate the publishing ethics and morality, the journal will immediately reject the manuscript and all submission from the first author. Those who violate the law shall be investigated for legal responsibility.
