Objective：To investigate the relationship between the expression of interleukin 10 (IL-10), immunoglobulin E (IgE) and eczema area and severity index (EASI) in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). Methods：Twenty-eight adult patients with AD and 22 normal controls were sequentially enrolled in this study. The serum level of IgE and IL-10 was measured by ELISA. The patients conditions were measured by EASI. The correlations among serum level of IgE, IL-10 and EASI were analyzed. Results：Serum level of IL-10 and IgE in AD patients were significantly higher than those in normal controls（t=232, P<005;t=430, P<001）. Significant positive correlation in AD were found between serum level of IL-10 and EASI scores, serum lever IgE and EASI scores, expression of IL-10 and IgE,respectively（r=061, P=0001; r=040, P=0036;r=056,P=0002）. Conclusion：The data suggests that IL-10 and IgE may play an important role in AD, and they can be sensitive parameters for disease severity assessment.
